The Kuychi charity offers you the possibility to stay on the project complex in Urubamba. You can enjoy a many faceted holiday in a beautiful, peaceful spot surrounded by unspoilt mountains, flowers and greenery.

Niños del Arco Iris lies in Urubamba, the heart of the Valley of the Saints, an hour's driving distinance from Cusco. That makes Niños del Arco Iris an ideal base for day trips to the impressive Inca ruins, including Machu Pichu, and Ollantaytambo. You can also visit the exceptional Moray Inca archaeological site (round agricultural terraces) and Salineras (salt terraces) or unspoilt little villages like Pisac, with their markets and local colour. The Valley of the Saints offers walkers and nature-lovers astoundingly beautiful panoramic views, yellow-green fields, deep bleu lakes, eucalyptus trees and always with the imposing backdrop of the Andes mountains with their snowy peaks. Breath-taking tableaux which make your holiday unforgettable.

For further information, please contact our Charity office in Eindhoven. Once you have arrived in Urubamba, we will of course help you to prepare your local trips. During your visit, you can get to know the workings of the project. You can have a look at the Family House (Casa de la Familia) and the Day Centre (Centro del Día) and you can meet Heléna, the children and the (volunteer) workers.

You will stay in one of the eight Rainbow Houses (Casas del Arco Iris) which are built against the mountain wall of the valley in the complex. You will be received, cared for and pampered in the Kuychi House (Casa Kuychi), where the reception, the tourist information desk and the cafetaria are located. The volunteers of the Charity also live in this building. By spending your holiday (days) at the project, you are also contributing to a better future for the deprived children of Urubamba and its surroundings:
Your payments for board and lodging will be recorded in the books as donations and will be used 100 % for the project. By asking payment for the accommodation, the project can partly meet its own long term maintenance costs.

There are eight completely furnished Rainbow houses equipped for two people. All the houses consit of two parts: a large sitting room with a sleepting area, and open fire and doors opening onto the terrace, and a large bathroom with shower and bath. There are no cooking facilities in the houses, but you can buy any of the three meals per day which are served in the Kuychi house. Each house has a kettle, cups, glasses, and different sorts of tea, towels and bathrobes. All the houses have a covered terrace with comfortable chairs and adequate privacy. The rented houses are cleaned every day.

There are two houses standing separately with rainbow paintwork. The other six houses are found in three semi-detached buildings. These six houses each represent a colour of the rainbow and are decorated internally and externally in that one colour. The furniture and accessories are all made by local (skilled) workers appointed by Heléna. All houses have two areas: a large sitting room/bedroom with an open fire and doors opening on the terrace, and a large bathroom with shower and bath. There are no cooking facilities, but three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are served every day in the Kuychi House. Each house has a kettle, cups, glasses and different sorts of tea, towels and bathrobes. All the houses have a covered terrace with comfortable chairs and adequate privacy. The rented houses are cleaned every day.

If you are already travelling in Peru and wish to stay at the project, you can call us at our local number 084-201475 to find out if there are still houses available. Of course, reserving in advance gives you more certainty.
